Supporting Member - a BAGS member with an active membership through either a paid or awarded FREE membership subscription.

Chapter Director (CD) - A supporting BAGS member that directs and maintains the operations of BAGS within a designated metro area, county and/or community, AKA a Monarch Butterfly. The CD operates their chapter within the parameters of BAGS policies & procedures, guidelines and the BAGS Vision & Mission. The CD is not an employee of Area Women's Events, LLC but does earn a commission from all memberships and merchandise sales in their designated chapter. 

Event Organizer (EO) - A supporting BAGS member that organizes group events (often large) within the BAGS community for other supporting BAGS members. The EO requires approval of the Chapter Director and receives free hostess & organizer training to ensure cohesiveness & positivity. The EO freely organizes events of their choice under the name of BAGS while representing the BAGS Vision & Mission. An EO is awarded a free membership for organizing two or more group events per month.

Director of Community Outreach (DCO) - A supporting BAGS member that organizes volunteer opportunities, philanthropy projects & fundraisers within the community for BAGS members to participate in. The purpose of this role is to connect BAGS members to the community. The DCO is awarded a free membership while maintaining the role.  

Director of Administration (DA) - A supporting BAGS member that assists with the operations of BAGS and is a source of support for BAGS members, Event Organizers and Directors on a volunteer basis. The DA is awarded a free membership while maintaining the role.

Director of Member Relations (DMR)
 - A supporting BAGS member that aims to resolve member issues/concerns and strives to ensure members feel welcome and an important part of the BAGS community. The DMR is awarded a free membership while maintaining the role. 


Specialist Organizer
 – A place of business that has been approved by the Chapter Director to organize & host events for specialized services, such as Arts & Crafts classes, at a discounted price for supporting BAGS members.

BAGS -Beautifully Aging Girlfriends, Women ages 50+

Baggage - Male spouse or significant other of a BAGS member

Baggette - A daughter of a supporting BAGS member
Monarch Butterfly - A Chapter Director
B&B - BAGS with Baggage

BDO -BAGS Day Out (= to girls day out)

BNO -BAGS Night Out (= to girls night out)

 

***Although we organize specialty events that may include Baggage, family or friends, the majority of our events are for the ladies only.

EVENT TYPES:

 

BAGS Only Event - Ladies only event (accounts for most organized BAGS events).

BAGS & BAGS with Baggage (Mixed Event) - Male spouses or significant others of a supporting BAGS member may attend the event.

BAGS & Baggettes – A daughter(s) of a supporting BAGS member may attend the event.

BAGS & Family - Family members of a supporting BAGS member may attend this event category. Some may be restricted to 21+
depending on the event.

BAGS Friends & Family – Any family member and/or friends of a supporting BAGS member may attend the event. This category is limited to outdoor concerts/events, art classes and fundraisers.

Single BAGS Event - An event for single BAGS only. This event allows supporting BAGS members to meet other single ladies within the BAGS community and is not intended to exclude anyone. 

B&B Couples Only – An event for BAGS with Baggage only. This event allows supporting BAGS members the opportunity to meet other couples within the BAGS community and is not intended to exclude anyone.

Meet & Greet (M&G) - a ladies only event with the sole purpose of providing an opportunity for subscribed BAGS members (new & seasoned) to get to know one another in an unintimidating environment such as coffee/breakfast, lunch or dinner. (Limit 20)

Mini M&G - the same as a regular Meet & Greet however, limited to a maximum of 10 BAGS members for those that prefer a smaller group setting.

New Members Only M&G - a Meet & Greet for new supportive BAGS members of 90 days or less. This gives NEW members the opportunity to meet with other NEW members within the BAGS community. It is not intended to exclude anyone.

Trial Members Only M&G - a Meet & Greet for Trial Members only. This event is hosted by the Director of Member Relations and often other Directors attend. This M&G allows Trial Members to meet with other Trial Members and offers an opportunity to ask questions they may have related to BAGS and BAGS memberships. It is not intended to exclude anyone.

Multi Event
- an event that involves more than one activity and/or location.

Special Events - Out of town event with an overnight stay.

BAGS Day Trip (BDT) - nonlocal events that require extended travel but not requiring an overnight stay.

Health & Fitness – organized activities that encourage healthy habits and/or physical exercise. (May be organized by any supporting BAGS member).

MEMBER IMPROMPTU -a spontaneous and small get together (up to 10 BAGS members) created and organized by any supporting BAGS Member. This type of event is not organized or hosted by an Event Organizer. The event may not include any fees or payment to benefit the organizer.

Member Social Club – Social clubs such as book clubs, game clubs, & support groups that are organized by any supporting BAGS member for other BAGS members. Social clubs are intended to facilitate friendships for members with similar interests in the same general area and/or neighborhoods. Members have the right to name the clubs anything they choose, under the umbrella of the BAGS community.
